Habit: A very large tree with aerial roots.
Leaves: Ovate, obtuse, entire, coriaceous, bud-scale
stipules.
Inflorescence :Hypanthodium, receptacles in sessile
pairs, axillary globose, red when ripe, with 3
basalbracts.
Flower: Male, female and gall flowers enclosed in an
axillary, sessile, depressed globose figs; red when
ripe. Flowering throughout the year.

flowers sesile; tepals 3-4, shortly connate.
Gynoecium:ovary straight, long excentric.
Fruit: Syconus red, globose
